Raindrop, raindrop~
A little bossa nova song singing about the rain in Malaysia. It has been raining a lot for the past few months.
It is also about Tiquen singing to Midiea. They are both my characters. The reason why he sings about Midiea's golden lips is because Midiea is an angel, and their features are white and golden. But at that time of singing, he did not realise Midiea is indeed an angel, he always thought it is the lipstick, haha.
Yea, I wanted to compose a song for a soothing sounding KAITO, something relaxing, and so, here is Raindrop. I have also been doing some pixel art, so I made a pixel KAITO for the video.
Veins of the World (Work in Progress)
This was what persistently appeared in my mind after I finished Midiea- The Subjugator. During the Chinese New Year celebration, I've jolted it down in my notebook that I along brought with me, which always proved to be very useful to recall pieces of ideas. It has a bit of the oriental flavour in it, and heavily influenced by fantasy role-playing game themes, and also Dungeons and Dragons. There are still a little bit left to finish the whole composition, but I am very happy with it so far.
KAITO is singing placeholder lyrics of Orihonn/Niuker's adventure into the Veins of the World with Attaq the Knight and Niuker the Priest. The party becomes progressively insane the deeper they venture into the ancient mines that promised fame and riches... Even if it's just a placeholder lyrics, I tend to start making elaborate stories for it. I will post the completed composition on Piapro to search for lyricist to write Japanese lyrics for it. The melody is rather flexible, and I have always wanted to collaborate with a lyricist. Hope it goes well.

Midiea - The Subjugator
This was a blast to create. The song idea came to me early in the morning, and I focused on it intensely for two days. The song belongs in the Kaito As Angel series; same dimension different world. This one is about Midiea, the Subjugator (as if the title is not obvious enough xD).
The very first thing I had to change is the BPM because the speed in my head was a little too quick for singing. I don't intend for it to become a rap song, and KAITO has to speak clearly or else it will be incomprehensible. It was one of those days where I did nothing but compose music, and the process was very smooth, which kept the ball rolling. I paid a lot of attention to the singing and the overall mix to make sure KAITO will not be drowned by the track. Some of the pronunciation in the Vocaloid 3 Editor were changed as it sounds unnatural in their original setting.
I spent time in the past two years making different kind of music, that is why coming back to create conventional music is fun. This time, a bit of rock flavour is suitable for the character. Midiea is a character from one of the worlds of my stories. You can find their short story in here under [2.2] Midiea - The Restrained Angel. Basically, they are an Archangel who is a perfectionist and impossibly loyal to the Lord of the Upperworld. In the past, they were ordered to execute their most precious angel. They did it, but not without some impact in their personality and state of mind. Nowadays, they are a perfect executing machine who constantly stop themselves from feeling and dedicating, except to their Lord Eainal.
The chant in the beginning is what they sing whenever they are going to execute a Fallen. It is a "last prayer" to the one who is going to be executed, or it could be the song of death, a requiem.

Back from a long hiatus
Hello there, it's been a while isn't it?
I have to thank G KINE for bringing me back here. Their discipline in keeping a blog motivated me to return to writing for mine as well.
There are other influences as well. Mainly, I finished my university studies and returned to Malaysia, my home country. Now, I am back to create more Vocaloid Kaito songs! I had a feeling of restriction when I was in the UK for some reason, which is also part of the reason why my Vocaloid song production is sparse in the past three years.
This time, I have a few great things to share!
I have an official website! Which is organized and cleaner than a casual blog like this :)
I have an organised writing website! Which contains a collection of my character's stories.
And most importantly, I would also like to share my experience with the awesome person that is G KINE. The first time I met them was when they created a PV edit of my song, The Glass Tomb.
The PV is so cool!
The story goes like this... One day, I received a message on Youtube. Curious, I opened it and was blown away by their talent at editing. They really captured the expression and feeling of the song very well. And the meaning of the lyrics were presented both subtly and clearly. There is also a play sample, yes, you can play The Glass Tomb on Project Diva :D Although, the technical things I will have to ask G KINE.
And that is how we established a connection. During mid August 2014, I was in a rather dark mood because of various reasons, this actually gave me a lot of hope and joy. So I thought, I must do a collaboration with them! I had an idea that might interest them, so I contacted them. It was about the story of Zcheste the angel and Dawerent the devil. I showed them the rough draft that is mostly just a piano sketch at that point in time. I was a bit worried that the idea might not come through clearly. Fortunately, they were interested. And so, the collaboration begins.
After that they created another fun PV edit (actually I should call it MV but I am still a little confused between the usage of the two in NND. I will find it out eventually, maybe there is not much difference.) I enjoyed it a lot, and I really appreciate their dedication to create for my songs.
I laughed and smiled watching this ^o^
We continued with the collaboration with a lot of exchange of ideas and brainstorming. I was happy to share the story of my characters to them. They were very patient with me, and I want to thank them for that. The song was completed in December, named Zcheste - Obsession. Then, I let G KINE take the reins from there to create a wonderful video. I gave some suggestions here and there, but the whole video is their work. When I saw the rough draft, I am touched by the details, even small ones from the lyrics. They did an amazing job! <3 I love the feeling of the MV.
If you understand Japanese, they have a written the process of the collaboration as well. You can view it here.
It was a pleasure to work with you, G KINE.

Mary-Go-Round
I have been reading grim fairy tales, twisted children stories and creepypasta when I have some free time.
I figured I would make a song. However, Alice In Wonderland, Snow White, Rapunzel, Beauty and the Beast, etc. have been overdone. I thought of the merry-go-round and how loud the music was in the background when I was riding it long time ago. I went to search for the background of it and this is what I have found:
Awesome Facts about Merry-go-round
It has inspired me create this song:
Lyrics:
Round and round
Round and round
Always chasing, chasing
Merry-go-round
Riding on the carcass
You're drowning in the pleasure
Luxurious red platform
There're smooth and silky faces
Round and round
Turn around
falling down
mess around
Keep the ride alive (keep it alive)
"I'm here, stay close"
"Don't run away”
Mary-go-round
Laughing, laughing
enjoying the ride
“What a lovely ride”
“It looks so real to me”
Your perception is twisted
(Round and round, round and round, don't stop this happiness)
Your perception is twisted
(Round and round, round and round, don't stop this happiness)
“I want to stay forever”
“Take me to the fairyland”
The setting is as follows:
A Lord owns a big spinning platform machine. It is a private property for his two sons and one daughter to play. They live happily in a grand estate with an elaborate mansion. The children always explore and play hide-and-seek in the garden where the spinning platform machine is. One day, a fat rat was stuck in between the the machine's gears and was crushed to death. The oldest son pulled it out and tossed it on the spinning platform. His siblings thought it was interesting to see the body of the rat keep spinning round and round... They got rid of the rat and thought of something bigger; a horse, a cow, a goat, anything that they can ride on will be very fun.
So they asked the local stables to give them sick horses or dying horses in pretence that their father will take care of it. Because the Lord has such good reputation, the Stable masters agreed to send over their horses. Before the horses reaches the Lord's estate stable, the children directed the delivery to the garden and on the large spinning platform. The delivery boys and men did not ask questions because it is the Lord's orders, or so they thought.

Happy Halloween!
The process behind making this video was intense. I am no video editing pro, or iMovie expert, so the process was prolonged.
I got the idea in the midnight of 27th before I sleep, and quickly got up from my bed to my laptop and PC. KAITO's always there waiting for me to give him something to sing, thank goodness for that.
I finished the song on 29th at 2am, took a nap, then got up before dawn and tried to draw but was unhappy with it so I went to DeviantArt to search for KAITO's recent fanart. I feel the need to collaborate with some artists.
I found hzeo's still picture of her Halloween KAITO model and thought it looks perfect for the song. (Look at this blog, she has amazing models http://nonbirimattari721.blog.fc2.com/)
Then I search for other artists who is using hzeo's model as well to make cool pose and atmosphere. I sent out all the notes to them individually and hope, with all my might, that they reply me before the end of 30th. It was a short notice but I've gotten their replies on 30th! I'm so grateful and thankful for their support and friendly attitude. And thus, I am able to insert their great artworks into this Halloween song of mine.
Then, the next part of headache, putting them together. I've started a little at the introduction using iMovie (since I have all my songs in my MacBook, might as well use it), the subtitles and syncing took me a while. Later, I received my best friend, CresAya's translation of the lyric.
Initially I have one of the Piapro artist's drawing, but when Lizzy (black-neko21.deviantart.com) posted up the one with a skeleton, that matches the lyric perfectly, so I replaced it.
iMovie crashed multiple times during the editing, and I was a little unsure if I could make it before 31st passes in Southeast Asia. Exporting the movie took me a few hours because there is an error so I exported a smaller/lower quality video. I didn't get this error usually for my songs but I think it's because I use so many artworks and transitions that the program can't take it. *shrugs*
Finally, at 1am in the morning, I was able to upload it on Youtube. NND requires a smaller size and I got a video converter to compress for a smaller size.
Even during all this rushing and hustling, I really enjoyed the making of it. And the warm comfort that the artist community of Vocaloid are very supportive puts a smile on my face. Thank you very much!
Night at the Castle.
Enjoy!

The Glass Tomb
I've uploaded The Glass Tomb on NND and Youtube after some improvement on the overall mix.
Kurisuto is going to record the guitar part for the Vism online Vocaloid album release version. It will be a little different.
I will try.

I have an idea for the next song. It's hard to know if Kaito will fit in it. It's an adventurous RPG type opening theme.I will try.
